Faraway Fingerprints

I love that I just drove on a five hour round trip adventure to be fingerprinted with my wonderful husband. We had so much time to talk without three little ones in the backseat. Thank you so much Jackie and Delaney for playing with the kids while we were away! The fingerprinting itself took twenty-three minutes. That is the time it took us to plug the meter, get fingerprinted, and be back on the highway. Lets just hope that immigration approval comes back to us quickly too!

  1. So close! Congratulations on the Gladney approval. You guys have hung in there so great through all the delays. You'll be officially waiting in no time.

  2. It was so great to see and chat with you. I sure miss the Sunday afternoons at your home. Sure wish you lived closer. We will be up to visit sometime when Brandon's done with the semester.

  3. First of all, congrats on the fingerprints!

Also, I wanted to comment, as you asked for some suggestions on reading materials. I read many books, but they often give worst case scenerio stuff, so it got quite discouraging, and honestly, I put the books away for about a year. Three that I did think had some merit were Parenting Your Internationally Adopted Child by Patty Hogen, I think, Attaching in Adoption by Deborah Gray and Toddler Adoption, the Weaver's Craft (don't recall the author), although I did do some skimming when it got overly frightening. My humble opinion is to read up as you are able, but don't overdo it. You know where the books are if and when you need them, but in the mean time, spend lots more time in the Word, than just reading man's words. I truly believe THE most important thing you can be doing is growing in your relationship with God and your husband, then you can handle whatever God plans for your family.

    Take care!
